OUR MISSION
The mission of SORTED is to make the textile chain circular and cleaner. A lot is already being done, but to truly realize this and to be ready for the future, many innovations and research need to be conducted. From automating textile sorting to changing consumer behavior: every part of the chain will be worked on.
Fifteen companies and organizations in the north (supported by a grant from the Joint Transition Fund) are joining forces in the coming years to achieve this and to give Northern Netherlands a leading position in this area.

From massive amount of textile to thrift store and new raw materials
Textiles are special: they keep us warm, protect us, and bring color to our lives. Fashion makes life more beautiful.
Unfortunately, a lot of textiles are thrown away each year, causing valuable material to be lost that could have been reused or recycled.

With SORTED, fifteen partners from the entire textile chain work together to make the chain circular.
From collection and sorting to reuse, recycling, and research into consumer behavior: together we cover the entire chain. This makes SORTED unique: we do not look at one link, but at the entire chain, resulting in better solutions.
With an extensive innovation and research program, we ensure that more textiles are saved and better utilized.
